Questions about the Pet Sitting Contract

A description of each pet, the type of service and its dates, feeding and medication instructions, how the sitter gets into the home, emergency contacts, which vet to use and how much the sitter may spend on care without approval, the rate and total fee, any deposit, what happens if either side cancels or the owner returns early, and who is responsible if a pet is hurt or causes damage.

Drop-in visits at the owner's home, overnight stays at the owner's home, boarding at the sitter's home, and dog walking only. The questions change with the service you choose, and the total fee is worked out from the rate, the number of visits or walks per day, and the dates.

Yes, up to three. Each pet is described by name, species and breed, age, and optionally sex, microchip, medical conditions, and behaviour notes. You can add a per-day fee for each additional pet, and the contract records any bite history the owner discloses.

The contract names the regular vet and, if you like, an emergency clinic. The sitter may seek care when it reasonably believes a pet needs it, must try to reach the owner first, and may authorize treatment up to a spending limit you set. Above that limit the owner or an emergency contact must approve, and the owner repays the sitter within the number of days you choose.

No. The contract records how the sitter gets in, such as a lockbox, smart lock, or key handover, and says the codes are provided separately. It also commits the sitter not to share access details or admit anyone else.

You can list up to three medications with the dose, timing, and how each is given. The sitter agrees to give medication by mouth and applied to the skin, ears, or eyes; injections are covered only if the sitter says yes, and the contract will not generate if an injection is listed without that agreement.
