Answer a few questions to create a professional Hunting Lease Agreement, ready to edit and sign.

Step 1 of 1211 sections · answer each, then create your document

The landowner

The person or business that owns the property and is leasing the hunting rights.

For a business, use its registered name, including "LLC" or "Inc." if it has one.
Used for written notices.

The lessee

The hunter, hunting club, or group leader who leases the hunting rights and is responsible for the rent and for everyone hunting under the lease.

For a business, use its registered name, including "LLC" or "Inc." if it has one.
Used for written notices.

The property

Use the street address if there is one. For rural land, describe where it is, such as the road and nearest town, and include the state.
Describe the land the lessee may hunt, with its boundaries and any parcel numbers, and any areas that are off limits, such as the house, barns, or a neighbor's field. You may also attach a map to the signed lease.
The landowner keeps every right not given to the lessee. Choosing these makes clear that the lessee must work around them.

Hunting rights

The first day the lessee may be on the property to hunt or to set up.
Answer no if the landowner, its family, or others may also hunt on the property during the lease.
The lessee may use only these, and only where and when the game laws allow them.
The lease adds that any greater distance the law sets also applies.

Hunters and guests

List every person who may hunt under the lease, including the lessee if the lessee is a person who will hunt. Each named hunter signs the lease.

Rent and deposit

The whole amount for the lease period, for all named hunters together.
Usually on signing or before the first day of the lease.
Held against damage to the property, unpaid amounts, and cleanup. Leave blank if there is none.

Stands, feeders, vehicles, and property rules

If yes, only where and when the game laws allow them. Answer no to forbid them.
If yes, only in a spot the landowner approves, and never during a burn ban.

Insurance

Ending the lease

Anything else

For example, a sign-in sheet at the gate, a trail camera rule, or help with feral hog control. Write it as you want it to appear in the lease.

Governing law

Usually the state where the property is.
