Salon Booth Rental Agreement

Answer a few questions to create a professional Salon Booth Rental Agreement, ready to edit and sign.

Step 1 of 1211 sections · answer each, then create your document

The salon owner

The person or business that runs the salon, barbershop, studio, or spa and is renting out the station.

For a business, use its registered name, including "LLC" or "Inc." if it has one.
Used for written notices.

The booth renter

The licensed professional, or their business, that will rent the station and serve their own clients there.

For a business, use its registered name, including "LLC" or "Inc." if it has one.
Used for written notices.

The salon and the station

The agreement uses the word you choose here throughout. A booth or chair is a work station in a shared room; a suite is a separate room with its own door.
The name customers know it by, which may differ from the owner's legal name.
Include the city, state, and ZIP code.
Use the name or number the salon uses, such as "Station 4," "the second chair from the window," or "Suite B."
Select everything the renter may use as part of the rent. Anything not selected is not included; the agreement says the renter supplies it or pays separately.
Leave blank if the renter may use only the entrance, hallways, and restrooms needed to reach and work at the station.

Rent and deposit

The amount for one rent period, before any late fee or utilities charge.
A flat amount charged once for each rent payment that is late. Leave blank for no late fee.
Electricity, water, heating and cooling, and trash removal for the salon.
Leave blank if no deposit is collected. A deposit is held during the rental and returned at the end, less any deductions the agreement allows.

Start, end, and notice

The first day the renter may work at the station. The first rent payment and any deposit are due on or before this day.
For an ongoing rental, either side may end it with this much notice. For a fixed term, the same notice applies once the rental continues past the end date.

Access and hours

For example, "Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m." The renter sets their own working schedule within these hours.
Answer yes if the renter receives a key, key fob, or door code and may work when the salon is closed to the public.

Services, clients, and payments

The renter may offer only services they hold the required license or registration for. Select everything the owner permits.
A booth renter normally collects their own payments. Choose the salon's point-of-sale only if the salon rings up the renter's services and passes the money on.

Retail sales and cleaning

Products the renter buys and sells to their own clients, such as shampoo or styling products. This does not cover the salon's own retail line.
The renter always keeps their own station clean and sanitized. This covers the floors, restrooms, shampoo area, break room, and other shared spaces.

Insurance and conduct

Insurance that covers claims by the renter's clients, such as a chemical burn or an allergic reaction. Either way, the owner's property insurance does not cover the renter's tools.
For example, "professional attire in black or neutral colors, closed-toe shoes." Leave blank if the renter chooses their own work clothing.

Ending the rental and anything else

Tools, products, and personal items the renter leaves at the station. The agreement lets the owner remove and dispose of them after this many days, to the extent the law allows.
A promise not to post or publish false or insulting statements about the other side or their business, during and after the rental. It does not stop honest reviews or reports to authorities.
For example, a parking space, an assistant the renter may bring, or a rule about product lines. Write it as you want it to appear in the agreement.

Governing law

Usually the state where the salon is.
