Questions about the Photography Services Agreement

The type of shoot, the date, start time, location and hours of coverage, the overtime rate, how many edited images the client receives and when, the fee, retainer and balance due date, cancellation and rescheduling terms, who owns the images, and what happens if the photographer cannot attend.

You choose whether to charge one. If you do, the agreement says the retainer is credited toward the total fee and is non-refundable because the photographer reserves the date and turns away other work, except where the agreement or applicable law says otherwise, such as when the photographer cannot attend.

You decide. The photographer can keep the copyright and give the client a license for personal use, or for personal and business use, or the copyright can pass to the client once everything is paid. You also choose whether the photographer may use the images in its portfolio.

The client is responsible for arranging permission from venues and from people who appear in the photos where it is needed for the client's use. The agreement does not say what any particular law requires.
