Questions about the Snow Removal Contract

The property and the exact areas to be cleared, the first and last day of the season, the snow depth that triggers a visit, how quickly service begins, whether salting is included, the price and how it is billed, any extra charges for ice or hauling, who marks obstacles, how damage is handled, and how either side can end the contract early.

Yes. Choose a flat season fee and the contract says it covers every required visit however much or little it snows. You can bill it up front or in monthly installments, take a deposit, and the early cancellation clause refunds the unused part of the season in proportion to the days left.

You set a depth band, such as 4 inches, and a price per visit for each of three bands: up to 4 inches, over 4 and up to 8 inches, and over 8 inches. The contractor measures the snow at the start of each visit and records the depth in its service records.

Yes. You can describe a commercial property, choose parking lots, entrances, and public sidewalks as service areas, add a note that the business is served before residential customers on the route, and set charges for hauling snow away.

The contract makes the contractor responsible for repairing damage its equipment causes beyond normal wear, such as turf torn up by a plow, and excludes pre-existing cracks, unmarked obstacles, and the effects of de-icing salt. The customer reports damage within the number of days you choose.
